Once you have placed your order for HostPapa's service, here's what to expect:
- Confirmation
You will receive an email (subject: “HostPapa Signup Email”) that confirms we have received your order. At this stage, your account has been put into a “pending” status.
We confirm, by phone, the majority of our new orders. We take this extra step to help guard all our customers, and our business, against fraud.
- Activation and registration
Your account is now “active.” We will send a request to our domain name registrar to register any new domains you have signed up for. It may take between 24 and 72 hours for a domain name to be registered and propagated to the servers and the Internet. During this time, we will set your DNS settings to point to the HostPapa servers.
If you have signed up with HostPapa using an existing domain name, please read the additional information in Step 5 below.
- Login information email
Your account will now be established on our servers. We'll create your login information and send it to you in another email (subject: “Login Information”). Save this important email for future reference!
PLEASE NOTE: the “Login Information” email contains URLs you need to log in to your HostPapa account. Because of these URLs, the email may be routed to your spam folder. If you do not receive your login email, please contact support@hostpapasupport.com from the address you signed up with, and we will resend it.
- Log into cPanel
The “Login Information” email contains instructions on how to use the temporary login for your account’s web-based hosting control panel, called cPanel. Use this until your domain name has been registered and/or propagated to our servers through the DNS.
Once registration and propagation is complete (24 to 72 hours), you will be able to log into cPanel from http://yourdomain.com/cpanel. This information is also in the “Login Information” email.
For additional information, please read our article on cPanel help:

- For customers with existing domains
If you signed up to HostPapa with an existing domain, you will need to change your current DNS to HostPapa’s DNS. The full instructions on transferring your domain are in the “Login Information” email. They are also in our knowledgebase:
http://hostpapasupport.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=5
You do not have to transfer your domain name to HostPapa if you would like to leave it where it is. However, you will not be able to take advantage of HostPapa's “Free Domain for Life” opportunity if you do not transfer the domain to us.
- Set up!
At this point, your domain should be pointed to our servers and you should be able to log in to your account, upload files and set up your emails. Your website and emails should be accessible via the Internet.
If you have any questions or problems along the way, please take advantage of HostPapa support:
