The addon domain function in cPanel allows you to host additional domains on your HostPapa account, and each addon domain will appear to be separate website to your visitors.
IMPORTANT: When setting up an addon domain, you must be able to change the DNS settings for that domain to HostPapa's DNS servers. Please see your Login Information email for the names of the DNS servers to use (usually NS1.HOSTPAPA.COM & NS2.HOSTPAPA.COM).
You must do this before adding the domain in cPanel and you must allow 12-24 hours for propagation after making the name server changes.
To set up an addon domain:
Click on the Addon Domains button on your cPanel home page.
Enter the domain name to be added; it is unnecessary to type in "www" first.
If you hit TAB on your keyboard down to the password section or just click the password field, Subdomain/Ftp Username & Document Root will be filled in automatically for you.
Enter a password for the addon domain; this is a new password, not your cPanel password.
Click the "Add Domain" button.
NOTE: the three redirection settings at the bottom of this screen are not necessary unless you want your addon domain to point somewhere else, for example another site or server.
The web files for an addon domain are located in a sub-folder in your public_html folder, so you must upload your site to that folder in order to display your addon domain.
Email accounts for the addon domain can also be set up under the mail settings in cPanel; just go to Email Accounts and set up your email address from there. You will be able to choose the addon domain from a pull-down menu in the set-up screen.
