What happens after you sign up for HostPapa web hosting
Solution

This article outlines what will happen after you have signed up for HostPapa web hosting.

The Process

After signing up with HostPapa, you will receive two emails at the address you provided on the sign-up form:

  1. A Sign-up Email will let you know we have received your order. It will include an order number, as well as a link to complete your PayPal payment, if required.
  2. An Invoice Notification with your invoice PDF file. Also included are instructions for logging in to your HostPapa billing account, as well as adding or updating credit card information and paying the invoice, if required. If you are paying by credit card, payment is usually made automatically.

A Fraud Check is performed on every HostPapa order. If a flag is raised on your order, a HostPapa representative will contact you by phone to verify your order, usually within a few hours.

When payment is received, you will receive your Welcome email, which includes your Login Information (all the information you need to access your HostPapa hosting account), along with useful links to help you get started. Once you receive this email, your hosting account is ready for use.

If you requested a new domain name when you signed up, you will also receive a Registration Confirmation email advising you that your domain name will soon be active.

IMPORTANT: Please check your junk mail folder as well as your Inbox. If 24 hours have passed and you have received none or only some of these emails, please open a support ticket: http://www.hostpapasupport.com/go/customer-care.shtml

Domain Name Delays

24 to 72 hours may be necessary for your new domain name information to be propagated to the Internet servers around the world. In the meantime, you can access your hosting account using the instructions included in your Welcome email and start setting things up.

If you are changing the name server (DNS) entries on an existing domain name, it will also take 24 to 72 hours for the new entries to go into effect.

If you are transferring your domain name to HostPapa, 5 to 7 days may be necessary to complete the process. We recommend modifying your DNS entries before starting the transfer, as this will speed up your site’s activation on the Internet. HostPapa can update your DNS entries, but this will add 24 to 72 hours before your site becomes live.
