How to add comments and replies on someone else’s spreadsheet in Sheets

87772519With many people working on one spreadsheet, you might not all be on at the same time to see what changes are being made. Luckily Google Sheets gives users many options to give feedback and communicate.

If team members aren’t available to collaborate in real time, leave feedback and questions for them to look at later.

  1. Select a cell.
  2. In the toolbar, click Insert comment comment1.
  3. Add your notes and click comment2.

If a comment is important for a specific collaborator to see, enter + followed by their address. They’ll get an email with your comment, along with a link to the spreadsheet. They can then reply to your comment to answer questions or start a discussion.

When you’re done with a comment, click resolve.
