Should you need to make a copy of your database for archiving or migration, you can do so using My cPanel and an application called PHPMyAdmin.
Export your MySQL database
Log in to your HostPapa Dashboard and select My cPanel from the top navigation menu. Scroll down to the Databases section and select PHPMyAdmin.
Select the database you wish to export from the list in the left sidebar.
Now click the Export button, at the top of the screen.
The Quick radio button provides minimal configuration options for the export. If you wish to select specific database tables for export, click the Custom button.
If you want your exported database to be able to replace existing tables of the same name (when imported), head to Object creation options and ensure that the box next to Add Drop Table / View / Procedure / Function / Event / Trigger statement is checked.
In the Output section, you can change the file name for your export and configure compression settings, if required.
Click the Go button to export the database to your local computer.
Import your MySQL database
To import a database, again, head to My cPanel and open PHPMyAdmin from the Databases section.
If you’re overwriting a database, select it from the list in the left sidebar.
Now click the Import button at the top of the screen.
Use the Choose file button top select the database file you wish to import. Ensure the file has been unzipped, if you chose to compress it during export. You can also drag and drop the file into the browser window.
Click the Go button to import the file.
