Types of content in Drupal 8

As a popular and flexible content management system, it’s no surprise that Drupal 8 makes it easy to create and publish a variety of articles. Let’s take a look at the types of content in Drupal 8.

Article

Alongside the Basic Page, Drupal Articles are another default content type. You’ll use Articles for blog posts and other content that is updated on a regular basis.

Basic Page

Use Basic Pages for static content, that will not change or change often. Typically, Basic Pages are used for contact forms, about us pages, frequently asked questions pages, and other static information.

Book Page

If you’re publishing a guide or another type of multi-page document, be sure to check out Book Pages. They’re enabled by the Book module and are designed to be part of the group or series.

Forum Topics

Used for forum discussions in which users can post replies to articles and other comments.

Poll

Polls are used to gauge opinions from readers on questions or topics posted on your site. Post a statement or a question and allow readers to vote!

Custom

Alongside Drupal’s default content types, you can also create your own custom content types. Custom types are useful for creating sub-categories of content. For example, product reviews, latest news articles, list posts, and more.
